As this hybrid is prone to rot of new growths if watered overhead, it is indeed fortunate that the most famous cultivar 'Goliath' was raised by Bernie Fletcher., otherwise the magnificence of this orchid may have been lost.

Yondi Tina is credited with 17 first generation off-springs, and it is likely that most would have used 'Goliath' - the most famous off-springs to date being Midas Touch and Australian Goldrush (D Butler hybridiser) - it is interesting to note that with 'Goliath' it can only be used as the 'pollen' parent.

An interesting aspect of 'Goliath' is that it flowers in the second week of September when many of other Dendrobium hybrids have finished - eg Avril's Gold - to make Midas Touch (AG x YT) pollen needs to be stored for the following year.

Goto will store pollen for next year, but, as luck would have it some 'hot/colds' are out at the moment and some hybridising will be undertaken.

Den Brinawa Charm (Pee Wee 'Keith' x kingi Chew Bacca) - hopefully YT 'Goliath' will improve flower spacing and improve shape, without reducing colour.
